Not every baby comes home . . .

Not every NICU baby comes home … one of ours didn’t. Instead we brought a box home of his things and a teddy bear with his heartbeat.

Even though they don’t come home. Their life deserves to be celebrated. They STILL OVERCAME a lot.

Every breath. Every lab drawn. Every poke. Every prod. Every touch. Every IV. Every blood transfusion. Every scan. Every test. That is something to be celebrated. Their body endured a lot and although they died, they FOUGHT to be here for the short time they were.

That is something to be celebrated.

Say their name.

Tell their story.

Cry.

Laugh.

Be sad.

Be hopeful.

"I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: the faithful love of The Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:20-23
